Our Client, Violet, is in search of a Business Development Representative.

Client Overview:

We’re on a mission to create a more open, distributed, and collaborative version of e-commerce, where shoppers can buy products directly inside social, livestream, sms, voice, AR, VR, or any other experience developers and app companies decide to build. And we unlock that vision with a single API that allows apps to connect directly to a brand or retailer’s ecommerce backend without the need for expensive and complex integrations. Our universal commerce API enables any app to launch its own integrated checkout, connected to its own network of merchants.

Violet is enabling commerce anywhere with a Unified Commerce API.

E-commerce currently requires merchants to drive customers to their sites and apps to purchase. Meanwhile, consumers, are discovering products in new, authentic, and contextual experiences (video, social, live streaming, curation, etc). Currently, purchasing doesn’t happen natively in those experiences.

In order to allow native purchasing, those emerging channels need to create integrations with hundreds of e-commerce platforms that host merchant stores. That takes years of work and isn’t what those channels do best.

Violet aggregates e-commerce platform integrations so that any publisher, platform, or app can use a single API to integrate directly with every merchant’s e-commerce platform in order to present products, build carts, and create orders natively without managing inventory or fulfillment.

As our first Business Development Rep, you’ll help feed our pipeline by sourcing qualified sales opportunities through prospecting, email campaigns, and a creative approach. You’ll directly inform and refine our sales process to make it more effective, efficient, and scalable. And you’ll help move leads through our pipeline and into our onboarding process. This is a high-impact role at a fast-growing startup.

This role could be right if you love:
Identifying high-potential prospects and building pipeline through outbound campaigns that you develop & lead
Acting as a liaison as new customers get started with Violet & building long term customer relationships
Customizing solutions to best fit each customer’s needs
Interacting with other startups, founders, and emerging technology teams

What we’re looking for:
2 years of experience in pipeline development and/or SaaS sales
Excellent communication and negotiation skills (verbal & written)
Experience working with customers and explaining technical products
A relentless mindset and unwillingness to quit
Proficiency in using Hubspot, writing compelling, insightful emails that are personalized to customers’ needs.
A high degree of empathy & intellectual curiosity
Excitement to work in a high-growth, time-sensitive environment and to help build processes and tools as needed

-Base $60-70k
